What is your lens of choice?!

For indoor portrait work?

For outdoor portrait work?

For fashion work?

For weddings?

I tend to stick with my 50mm for most cases but I've been loving my 35 for the ability to use it when there's less room. I rarely use my 70-200, like, almost never. I always contemplate selling it to get money towards something I'll use more but I've decided that since I already have it I should keep it for the rare occasions that I may need it. And recently I was glad about that decision! I took Lourdes to Disney on Ice and what better way to get close up shots from so far away?! My only complaint is the shake issue - you almost need a tripod to use it at all.

I use my 50 the most. I use 50 and 70-200 equally at weddings. I will be adding the0 100 macro for detail shots.

will be adding 85mm for outdoor portrait. on the full frame 5D the 50 is not cutting it alone. I really need the 85 so I am not all up in my clients face

Same here - do you get a lot of shake with the 70-200?

I'd also like the 85. With the 35 I'm definitely in their face lol! But I like to have that option for when I can't get back far enough!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!

I really love the 70-200 f/2.8 IS but do not own it yet. My love right now is the 85 f/1.8 on my 5d.

I have 3 lenses I use 99% of the time for my people work.
24-70 f2.8. This is my workhorse lens, the one I use most of the time.
50 f1.4. I just LOOOVE shallow DOF portraits.
135 f2.8. Can't beat a fast prime!

I use my 85mm 1.8 & 50mm 1.8 most. I too have that 70-200 zoom and find that I only take that out on the super sunny days at the soccer field! I have considered selling it also, and came to the conclusion that once I don't have it, I will need it! :)
